Cool Gifts from Saving Shelter Pets, Inc.

Saving Shelter Pets, Inc., is one of my favorite rescue organizations. They also have some of the coolest stuff in their online store. Here's a couple items I purchased recently:

A coffee mug I purchased for myself (but my fiancee commandeered it as soon as it arrived) with the cutest pink cartoon kitty design.

Here's a cute pink ladies' ringer tee that I bought for myself with the same design. It fits perfectly and has quickly become one of my favorite tees!






Finally, I got this nice 100% organic cotton t-shirt for my fiancee featuring a cute blue bulldog cartoon design. It's one of his favorite t-shirts!

Winging Cat Rescue Long-Sleeve T-Shirt

I bought this black women's long-sleeve t-shirt from Winging Cat Rescue's Online Store a couple months ago, and it has since become one of my favorites!

Winging Cat Rescue is a licensed rescue in the state of Georgia, and it is one of my favorite resuce organizations. WCR rescues cats from death row in Georgia and transports them to adoption centers and sanctuaries in the Northeast where they are adopted into new, loving homes. WCR also helps rural Georgia communities by sponsoring low-cost spay and neuter clinics. They also help rural shelters by spaying and neutering impounded and surrendered cats, and providing vaccines to prevent the spread of common shelter illnesses. Proceeds from the sale of items from the Winging Cat Rescue Online Store goes directly to help them in their mission to save Georgia's unwanted cats.

A Rotta Love Plus T-Shirt and Mousepad

A Rotta Love Plus, located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, works hard to help rottweilers and pit bulls in need. Not only do they rescue and rehabilitate death row dogs and place them in carefully screened homes, but A Rotta Love Plus works to fight the negative stereotype that is associated with these dogs. A Rotta Love Plus also works diligently to fight breed-specific legislation in Minnesota.

I've been a big fan of A Rotta Love Plus for a quite a while, and to show my support, I purchased a couple items from their online store. Their stores showcases great gift items for pit bull and rottweiler lovers to show their support for their favorite breeds. The proceeds from the sale of the items in the A Rotta Love Plus Online Store helps fund their work on behalf of rottweilers, pit bulls and other pets in need.

I bought this ash gray men's cotton t-shirt for my fiancee. As you can see, it features a scene from the classic kids' television show, the Little Rascals, as well as the quote: "Petey never bit Buckwheat...Ban the Deed Not the Breed."
















And I bought this mousepad, featuring the same design, for my desk at work. It is definitely a conversation starter!

Be Humane T-shirt From the Dumb Friends League of Denver, Colorado

One awesome way to support animal rescue organizations is to purchase items they have for sale. Generally, the proceeds go directly to support animals in need. Moreover, by wearing a t-shirt with the logo of your favorite rescue group, or wearing a shirt with an animal welfare message, you help raise awareness of issues in animal welfare.

The Dumb Friends League/Humane Society of Denver has an online store to help raise proceeds to help the shelter animals in their care.



This t-shirt had been on my Christmas wishlist, but alas, I didn't get it. So, I bought it for myself. As you can see, this white women's t-shirt has a beautiful design featuring the colorful photographs of two shelter dogs and a shelter cat. It also features the message, "Be Humane," and the logo of the Dumb Friends League/Humane Society of Denver.




While I was at it, I also purchased this large coffee mug for my fiancee. It features a beautiful photograph of a golden retriever and the message "Don't Be Cruel," as well as the logo of the Dumb Friends League/Humane Society of Denver.

What's in a name? from the Dumb Friends League/Humane Society of Denver website:

"When our organization was founded in 1910, it was named after a London, England, animal shelter called Our Dumb Friends League. In those days, the term "dumb" was often used to refer to those who were unable to speak.

Although the term "dumb" is not generally used with that meaning today, we've kept our name, because it has significant recognition among Colorado residents.

The mission statement of the Dumb Friends League includes these words: “speaking for those who cannot speak for themselves," meaning our companion animal friends.

We are a private, nonprofit organization, and thanks to the support of many individual, foundation and corporate donors, we continue to make a big difference for the people and animals in our community and beyond."
